This project involved the supply and installation of a Daikin ducted system for the upper level and a Daikin high-wall split system in the living room on the lower level.
Daikin FDYAN160AV1 16.0kW Ducted Air Conditioning System Installation
The installation of the Daikin FDYAN160AV1 16.0kW ducted air conditioning system was expertly handled by Precision Electrical & Air. The indoor unit was positioned within the ceiling space above the void, while the condenser was securely mounted on the front balcony wall using rubber feet. The connection between the indoor and outdoor units was neatly enclosed in ducting as it exited the ceiling space.
To ensure efficient drainage, two drainage systems were established from the indoor unit and its safety tray leading to the external gutter. Comprehensive ducting, branch take-offs, zone motors, and air plenums were installed throughout the ceiling space, all linked to the indoor unit. A return air grille was strategically placed in the upstairs hallway to facilitate optimal air circulation.
A dedicated electrical sub circuit was installed, running from the switchboard to the outdoor unit, complete with an NHP isolation switch mounted next to the condenser. a MyZone Multipoint touchpad zone controller was fitted in the upstairs hallway and connected to the zone motors for enhanced control over the air conditioning system.
High-Wall Daikin FTXV80W 8.0kW Split System Air Conditioning Installation
In the downstairs living room, the Daikin FTXV80W 8.0kW high-wall reverse cycle split system was installed. This installation included the new ducting, interconnect cables, and copper pair coil necessary for connecting the indoor and outdoor units, with the condenser also mounted on rubber feet to minimise vibrations.
A dedicated electrical circuit was installed from the switchboard to the condenser, featuring an NHP isolation switch for safety. To manage condensation, an Aspen Silent+ Mini condensation pump was placed beneath the indoor unit and connected to the nearest stormwater downpipe. The system was thoroughly commissioned upon completion to ensure optimal performance.
Final Results of the Installation
The installation has provided the property with efficient zoned ducted heating and cooling for the upper level, alongside a dedicated high-wall split system for the downstairs living area. Both Daikin systems were installed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, ensuring all electrical circuits and drainage systems were correctly implemented.
